Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a trip to Bronte Creek with your school but have some questions? Here are some of the frequently asked questions we receive to help you with your trip planning. If you still need more information, please email your program booking coordinator or call the park directly.
1. Where can our students leave their bags during a program?
2. Where can my class fill up their water bottles during our visit?
A. There are water fountains at the washrooms or you can fill up at the sinks inside the washrooms.
3. What is the closet picnic shelter my group could use?
A. If your groups program is located around the Nature Centre then the closest shelter is the Sand shelter. If your groups program is located near Spruce Lane Farmhouse then the closest shelter is Breckon shelter.
4. Can we reserve a Picnic Shelter?
A. Picnic Shelters are available on a first come first served basis until the end of June. Until reservations open, the shelters have no running water or electricity. For more information about the shelters, please contact the park office at (905)827-6911.
5. Where can my group have lunch during our visit?
A. For Maple Syrup School Programs; groups will be assigned a lunch space that is within an enclosed building that is heated only by a wood burning fireplace. For Spring School Programs, groups are encouraged to eat at one of our many picnic tables located around the park. If the weather isn’t fair, there is some space inside of the Playbarn, nearby Picnic Shelters, or on the porches of the Nature Centre and Spruce Lane Farmhouse.
6. What happens if it rains during my program?
A. We run programs rain or shine! Rainy weather just adds to the adventure of visiting the park.
7. What happens if the weather is dangerous during my program?
A. Our park staff will keep a close eye on the weather during your visit. If we feel it is unsafe to continue the program outside, we will modify your activities to ensure your group still gets the most out of their visit while being safe.
8. Do you offer rain dates for programs?
A. Due to the high demand of our programs we do not offer rain dates but don’t forget, we run programs rain or shine!
9. If we cancel our program because of the weather, do we get a refund for our program fees?
A. The reservation fee for programs is non-refundable as it holds your program space. If you choose to cancel your program we will not be able to issue you a refund as we do run programs rain or shine.
10. What happens if my students need a nutrition or snack break during the program?
A. Programs are scheduled for a set length of time. Our staff can always give your group time for a nutrition or snack break but this will just cut into some of your programs time. If you think your group will need this type of break please indicate this during your booking or speak with your group leader as soon as you arrive so they can plan your visit accordingly.
11. Can we pay for our park entrance fees before our program?
A. We are sorry but you cannot pay these fees ahead of your program as they are valid for the date of payment. We take all forms of payment at the front gate except American Express.
