These programs are available as part of a half-day and full-day program which includes time in our Nature Centre or Heritage farmhouse, and optional time in the Playbarn.

Soils

Nature Program

Using demonstrations, we will discuss the glacial formation of the Bronte Creek valley and the composition of soil. Students will get a chance to dig in the dirt for a hands-on look at how different habitats impact soils as we walk through farm fields, meadows and forest.

Farm Child

Heritage Program

Victorian children had lots of work to do, whether you lived in the city or the country. But children who lived on the farm had extra chores to help take care of the farm and its animals. Help out around Spruce Lane farm by doing some of the chores Victorian children had to do every day.
